Los comandos de esta publicación funcionarán en el servidor MySQL y MariaDB.
Es una buena idea realizar el mantenimiento de la base de datos de vez en cuando. Una cosa que hay que hacer es optimizar las tablas. Tenemos dos opciones:
Reorganiza el almacenamiento físico de los datos de la tabla y los datos del índice asociado para reducir el espacio de almacenamiento y mejorar la eficiencia de E/S al acceder a la tabla. Los cambios exactos realizados en cada tabla dependen del motor de almacenamiento utilizado por esa tabla.

Si desea ejecutar el comando para varias tablas desde la misma base de datos, use:
OPTIMIZE TABLE table1,table2,table3;OPTIMIZE TABLE funciona con tablas InnoDB, MyISAM y ARCHIVE.
El cliente mysqlcheck realiza el mantenimiento de tablas:comprueba, repara, optimiza o analiza tablas.
Para verificar una tabla, use:mysqlcheck db_name tbl_name
Para comprobar todas las tablas de una base de datos:mysqlcheck –databases db_name
Para verificar las tablas de todas las bases de datos en el servidor:mysqlcheck –all-databases
Observe que las tablas de la base de datos están bloqueadas mientras se ejecuta mysqlcheck. No se pueden insertar ni eliminar registros de las tablas.
