Función de valores de tabla frente a función de valores escalares para valor de retorno único

Mi discusión con Jonatha Dickinson (mira su respuesta) me llevó a hacer algunas pruebas rápidas:

Resulta que la subselección escalar incrustada pura no es tan malo Consultar solo un valor es incluso el más rápido . Como era de esperar, la función escalar es mala. Cuantos más campos devuelva el TVF, mejor será la ganancia de rendimiento relativa.

La única respuesta segura es:La función escalar es la peor y un TVF multilínea es, la mayoría de las veces, más lento que en línea. Cualquier enfoque ad-hoc tiende a ser más rápido .

Pero podía configurar casos especiales para todas las situaciones (excepto la función escalar), donde un enfoque era el más rápido.

Conclusión:(como siempre :-) ) Depende...

Sugerencia:Lo mejor es dejar que esto vaya contra una gran base de datos con muchas tablas y columnas.
